Curtains I (2016-2019) was a series that included 70 paintings. The works were created using spray paints and stencils specifically designed to produce a photographic effect. However, a series of technical "accidents," akin to printing glitches, was created to disrupt the three-dimensional illusion of the painting. In 2019, the studio burned down and most of the works were destroyed. The few works that survived the fire bore marks from the event- smoke stains, dirt, and water damage.

 

Curtains II (2023) were created on top of the damaged paintings.The works from 2023 bear the same number as the name of the old work. This allows for a comparison between the documentation of the old works (2016-2019) and the new works painted over the fire-damaged pieces.
